The Medley Institute

The Medley Institute was founded by Jana Patz in 2009, in Berlin, as an attempt to merge fashion and design into new, surprising concepts.

Her wish to work with materials uncommon in fashion - such as wood or porcelain - often serves the creator as the starting point of her creative process, whilst the step by step process she follows is guided by techniques of traditional craftsmanship.

In an attempt to interact with the specific properties of the chosen materials, different techniques and arts are employed, aiding the creation of complex objects and accessories which are beyond easy categorization or interpretation and are both valuable, as well as wearable.
